Unforgiveness takes on many forms but has the same ultimate result. It puts us in a position of powerlessness, it removes us from the fullness of God and it hinders our being, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. One of the chief forms of unforgiveness is found in offence. When we are offended and choose to stay offended, we are basically saying ‘I refuse to forgive, and I will not change my mind’. Imagine Jesus had the same attitude. He did not! He will never have that attitude. Perhaps as you read this, you are coming up with the excuses and explanations in your head as to why you have not forgiven. You cannot manage other peoples’ thoughts, feelings, and words but you can manage your self. When you choose to stay offended, all growth in your being stops. You grow bitter and run the risk of being emotionally sick or even physically ill. As you read this, make a quality decision to forgive. Forgive those who hurt you with their words. Those who offended you with their actions. Release those who has caused you to be in a horrible situation. You cannot change them, but you can move on. I pray that even as you find in your mind to forgive that the heavens will open up over your life right now and that God will give you the courage to say, ‘I forgive them’. Bless you and find strength in the scripture below.

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness;his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.
